Art Sale | Thrifting | Starting a New Painting | Artist Diaries

July 22, 2025 in Backwards Beauty Series, teaching painting, video, tips and tricks, thrifting/antiques

Welcome back to my studio. In this episode, I start by reconnecting with nature — birds, clouds, and a few quiet moments before the brush meets the canvas. Then I share a special offer available this week only: ✨ Two original 6x8" oil paintings on canvas paper — available from July 22–28 for $55 each + shipping. Message me if you’re interested! Next, I take you along on a little treasure hunt at a local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I'm always searching for vintage frames... but today, I found something even better — an antique print of a Victorian beauty that captured my imagination. I’ll be using her as inspiration for a new Backwards Beauty portrait. Back in the studio, I prep my canvas and walk you through the early process — from setting up my projector to mixing paint. Then we jump into a timelapse of me painting Beth — a barefoot summer soul in a lacy dress — while I reflect on the magic and mystery of creating art. The painting isn’t quite finished yet… so for now, it’s To Be Continued.
