I am taking you step by step on how to build a self-sustaining terrarium which is almost care free. I will show you how to forage for moss, how to store your moss, and then how to build it. I use plant light bulbs in my terrarium lamps which means they can survive anywhere all you need is a plug. I will teach you the secret to gaining a balance ecosphere where your terrarium will thrive and not need any attention except admiration. I am also sharing my simple no fuss cloche terrariums which are the perfect green accessory to any room in your house.
What I Learned from Teaching My First Painting Workshop | Capon Springs and Farms, WV
Doing the workshop this weekend I realized the true magic happens when you interact with your students and give them feedback about how they can improve and to see the growth and the ah ha moments from them was truly gratifying.
Painting in the Style of Sargent: Brushwork That Changed Art
This week I am bringing in new inspiration into the studio. I am revamping my wall of inspiration and add some inspiration photos from John Singer Sargent one of my favorite painters. I am sharing with you my very raw and unscripted thoughts on my break though I had this week while painting Amanda this week's backward beauty. I am still processing everything that happened and I will share more in upcoming videos about how this one painting changed me. If you need some new inspiration into you space or art practice I encourage you to study someone you know or someone new to you and find out about there creative process and let their journey inspire you to think differently and most of all give yourself the permission to look at your work with fresh eyes. Please leave me a comment if you have any painters or artists that inspire you and that I should check out. Until next week I am wishing you find serenity thru creativity.
This one thing reduced my painting time by half
In the studio this week we are enjoying the spring blooms in the garden and then we are painting Penelope with the Pink Peonies. I am sharing my thoughts with you about how I turned my painting process upside down. I get into how this one thing helped reduce my painting time by half. I am a little under the weather this week so please forgive my very croky voice. I would love your advice on the frame that I use for this painting and weather I should change it from white to gold? Leave me a comment bellow.
Cleaning the Studio & Painting a Peacock
If you need some motivation to get some spring cleaning done then this video is for you. I also let you in on some problem solving I had to do this week in the studio. I almost didn't get this video posted on time because I procrastinated painting the peacock and I have a real simple trick you can use to over come those feelings of overwhelming when painting something so complicated and detailed. Don't forget to visit my website to get a print of your favorite backwards beauty.
